7 Music Videos From the ’90s With Major Beauty Inspo

musicpicWe’ll never get over the ‘90s. It was the time period that gave us the Spice Girls, Clueless, and Friends, after all. Not to mention, the decade’s grunge and normcore styles have made a major comeback in the past year—and now, we’re turning back to this time span as a source of serious makeup inspiration.

More than just being a great source of sartorial inspiration, the ‘90s were great time for singers and bands to express themselves in some now-iconic music videos. What’s not to love? Since everything old is new again, we’re looking back to a few classic, quintessentially ‘90s music videos to give us some majorly cool beauty ideas. These seven videos all have looks that we want to recreate this Fall (using some of Colourpop’s ‘90s-inspired products, of course).

1. Sometimes – Britney Spears (1999)
Dressed in all-white, young Britney is positively glowing. Clear skin and a better-than-natural lip truly never goes out of style. Paired with a soft, bronze smokey eye, this look couldn’t be more perfect for fall.

2. The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly) – Missy Elliot (1997)
Leave it to Missy to rock one of the raddest bold lips while throwing out some incomparable verses. This rap queen is a girl after our own hearts with this moody dark purple lipstick.

3. Don’t Speak – No Doubt (1995)
Even before she was a solo act, Gwen Stefani caught our eye as a rising style icon. She may not have pledged allegiance to her classic red lipstick yet in 1995, but this deep burgundy color has us entranced.

4. Bills Bills Bills – Destiny’s Child (1999)
When a music video is set in a beauty parlor, of course it’s going to have some major looks. Beyoncé and her crew have inspired us to pay homage to glossy lips and strobed cheekbones.

5. Garbage – Milk (1995)
Shirley Manson’s trademark red hair may be her most defining feature, but that doesn’t mean she shies away from vibrant beauty looks. This metallic blue smokey eye may just become our new going-out look.

6. That Don’t Impress Me Much – Shania Twain (1997)
A red lip and copper eyeshadow may seem like and intimidating pair. But Shania proves that with the right attitude, anything is possible.

7. Baila – Jennifer Lopez (1999)
No one rocks a nude lip quite like J.Lo. Paired with a subtle smokey eye, it’s a winning combo.
